DIY Natural Hand Sanitizer, A Safer Option!

I don’t know which is worse – using store bought hand sanitizers or not using them at all to avoid germs.  I am swaying toward using store bought are definitely worse in some cases. They are loaded with chemicals and hardly safe for a small child who still eats their fingers. (Read this article from Health Wyze to learn more.)

Avoid the Harsh Chemicals and go Natural

Try this all natural hand sanitzer recipe and know you are protecting yourself and your family from unnecessary hazardous chemicals. This recipe contains tea tree essential oil which has antiviral, antiseptic and antibacterial properties. The Witch hazel is a natural astringent and will help to prevent environmental contaminants from entering pores.

Ingredients:

1/4 Cup of Aloe Vera Gel

2 tsp. Vitamin E Oil

2 Tbsp. Which Hazel

10 Drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil

1 Dispenser with squeeze cap.

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together and transfer to dispenser. Use as you would any other hand sanitizer.*

When I made this the first time I found a squeeze tube of pure Aloe Vera gel at my local drugstore and eyeballed what I thought was about 1/4 cup and then just added the rest of the ingredients to it and gave it a good shake. It worked out well!

Do you make your own sanitizer? I would love to hear about it. If you have any questions or would like to share your ideas, please comment below.

Warmly,

Rachel
